Fairly hardy, evergreen, small to medium tree with glossy dark green leaves. New leaves are coppery red and in colder areas turn red and yellow in autumn. Dense sprays of small white flowers cover the tree from October to May and attract insects and hence insect eating birds. This plant takes well to clipping, has a non-invasive root system and can be planted successfully as a hedge. It is also an important fodder plant on game farms.
Size Up to 10m: in Gauteng up to 6m
