Very hardy , semi-deciduous, small tree which can be used as screening or as a single specimen. Its neat, dense crown of leathery leaves makes it a lovely shade provider. The dainty sprays of yellowish-green flowers are followed by soft green fruit full of black seed covered in bright orange jelly which is loved by birds. (Male and female flowers on different plants so only the female gives seed). It is the host plant for many butterfly species. Plant in full sun with lots of compost and water well until established. This tree will grow well on rocky slopes.
