Semi hardy, scrambling large shrub with attractive foliage and long arching branches.  The small, inconspicuous flowers are borne on and off all summer but the fruit is attractive turning from red to black.  The fruit attracts fruit eating birds to the garden.  The flowers havecharacteristic smell of boiling potatoes that scents the air in summer evenings.  It has many traditional uses.
