This softly branching, fairly hardy, evergreen, upright Plectranthus has attractive foliage.  The spikes of pink to mauve flowers are tinged with purple beneath and borne in autumn.  As with most Plectranthus it should be pruned after flowering and planted in shade or semi-shade.  It Attracts insects and butterflies and therefore also attracts birds.  Prune back after flowering.  Plant in semi-shade or shade in well-drained, well composted soil.  Effective as a fly repellent – rub your windowsills with the stems.
