Very hardy, deciduous scrambling shrub or small tree. The new growth of the leaves is bronze and it has bright autumn colours. The inconspicuous flowers (male and female flowers on separate plants, therefore only female plants bear fruit) are borne from Sept. to Nov. The small fruits are red when ripe and much sought after by birds. It forms an attractive hedge and should be planted in full sun or semi-shade.
